Roger’s Recuperative Ramble

Part of Roger’s programme for recovery from his operation is a daily walk to get the heart and lungs back into good shape.

We’ve found a footpath that goes round and through a nearby cornfield, providing a route of 20 – 30 minutes.

From the house, at first we follow the main road into the village before turning into a quiet farm road.

The road runs past a golden cornfield, which has just been harvested.

Looking west, the sun catches the tower of Toddington Manor.

Over this stile …

… another footpath runs through the middle of the cornfield, and we sometimes use this as a variation.

Juliet has been on most of the walks with me.

The hay is stacked high at the edge of the field.

Roger pauses on the way back to the main road.

We approach our roundabout …

… and soon we are back home again.
