Roger’s Recuperative Ramble
Part of Roger’s programme for recovery from his operation is a daily walk to get the heart and lungs back into good shape. We’ve found a
footpath that goes round and through a nearby cornfield, providing a route of
20 – 30 minutes. |
From the house, at first we follow the main road into the village before turning into a quiet farm road.
The road runs
past a golden cornfield, which has just been harvested. |
Looking west, the sun catches the tower of Toddington Manor.
Over this stile … |
… another footpath
runs through the middle of the cornfield, and we sometimes use this as a
variation. |
Juliet has been
on most of the walks with me. |
The hay is
stacked high at the edge of the field.
Roger pauses on the way back to the main road.
We approach our
roundabout … |
… and soon we are back home again.
